What is Colours of Time about?
We start in the modern day, when four cousins discover they share a mysterious family history when they’re brought together by the unexpected inheritance of an abandoned house in the hinterlands of Normandy. While the house has been abandoned since the 1940s, they discover a trove of paintings and photographs from the 19th century.
Together they retrace the life of their creator, their shared ancestor Adèle who, as a young woman in 1895, headed to the burgeoning city of Paris in search of her missing mother, only to get caught up in the avant-garde art world as the rise of photography and the dawn of the Impressionist art movement revolutionise modern aesthetics.
As the four uncover her amazing experiences, replete with encounters with various luminaries of the time, the parallels between both time periods become more and more apparent.
