Penrith Panthers star Nathan Cleary has found himself in hot water after being placed on report for a dangerous tackle on Brisbane Broncos playmaker Ezra Mam.
Taking on the Brisbane Broncos at CommBank Stadium, the incident occurred in the opening half when the Panthers co-captain produced an “upending tackle” on Mam.

A Broncos player can be overheard saying after the incident: “That’s like the 10 weeks he got last time”.
That’s believed to be in reference to the five-match ban Cleary received in 2022 for his dangerous throw on Dylan Brown.
“Nathan Cleary on report for that upending tackle on Ezra Mam,” Andrew Voss said on Fox League in commentary.
“It’s nowhere near as bad as the one a few years back on Dylan Brown. He got a four or five week ban.
“It just adds to what’s going on in the mind of Nathan Cleary.”
The Panthers will now await the Match Review Committee’s finding on Friday morning to determine the severity of any potential charge.
