The South East Melbourne Phoenix are in advanced talks with 201-centimetre American forward D’Shawn Schwartz, according to ESPN’s Olgun Uluc.
“The contract is not signed yet and I’ll stress that. But an agreement is in place, this player has been committed for a couple of days … that player is D’Shawn Schwartz,” Uluc said on The Marketplace.
“John Brown was almost entirely defensive-focused. D’Shawn Schwartz is a sharpshooter.
“They’re bringing someone in who’s going to stretch the floor, consistently shot the ball at a 40-ish per cent clip over his professional career. He shoots a lot of threes.”
Schwartz most recently played for the Rostock Seawolves in Germany, averaging 13.5 points and 5.9 rebounds during the 2025-2026 season.
