A pair of Zara trousers has gone viral for all the wrong reasons after countless reports of people going tumbling while wearing them.
Quickly being dubbed as “the world’s deadliest pants”, the $50 pair of ultra-long, flowy wide-leg trousers from Zara are causing quite the stir.
More than 2000 videos have already been posted to TikTok about the hazardous garment, with shoppers sharing photos of their busted knees, elbows and toes.
The combination of the wide-leg design with the floor-skimming material is said to wrap around people’s feet when walking, which is likely causing everyone to trip.
One woman, who goes by the name Holly Gilmer on TikTok, shared a now-viral video of her severe injuries as a result of the pants.
Showcasing a photo of herself in a wheelchair and crutches, she captioned the video: “These Zara pants need to come with a warning label because I now have a fractured knee.”
Another TikToker, Kristina Michelle shared herself wearing the infamous pants saying “I still own them and love them,” despite admitting that she’s had some near misses.
“The other day I almost accidentally tripped and flew headfirst down the stairs,” she said in the video.
“I only miraculously saved myself because I caught the railing.”
She humorously demonstrated just how easy it was to fall, from her lounge room.
“You’re walking, walking, walking, and then you’re blowing in the wind, and then this thing catches here and [down] you go!”
Hundreds of others have flocked to the viral videos to share their similar experiences of the viral ‘death pants’.
“I ended up in the emergency room because of these pants,” one person shared.
“Broken wrist and gash by my temple, I had to get the gash glued and arm cast for 6 weeks, right before vacation,” they continued.
“I’m 5’11 and still fell flat on my face and ended up in hospital because I thought I’d broken my knee,” said another.
“OMG I broke my elbow wearing those trousers, thought I was the only one,” shared a third.
Others recounted having “bruises everywhere”, while another bluntly stated their “toe broke” as a direct result of the pants.

It’s not the first time the major global retailer has come under fire, having previously faced scrutiny over its labour conditions, ethical practices, and environmental waste.
Despite this, as the flagship brand of the Inditex group, the company generates global revenues close to $70 billion annually.
Founded in 1975 in Spain, the retail giant now operates nearly 3,000 stores globally.
