High school basketball: Thompson scores 15 in All-Star Gane loss

GREENSBORO – West Rowan graduate Tiara Thompson was one of the leading scorers for the West in Monday’s 85-82 loss to the East All-Stars at Novant Fieldhouse.
Thompson shook off a slow start and scored 15 points. The UNC Wilmington recruit finished 6-for-16 from the floor. She made one 3-pointer and two free throws.
Thompson, a 5-foot-7 guard who was Rowan County Player of the Year and Co-Player of the Year for the South Piedmont Conference, had seven rebounds. She had two assists, one steal and one block.
Helping cheer on Thompson was West Rowan’s All-State cheerleader Brooke Connor.
