The club’s head coach, Steve Woods, said he was very pleased with the performances the young boxers put on.
“Day one, we had two members compete in the quarter finals, Peter Mullane, 14, boxed Jerry Connors of Welsh Warriors BC and won by a unanimous decision.
“Terry Mullane, 17, boxed Luke McAuley of Omero BC (Belfast), also winning a unanimous decision.
“On day two, the semi finals were held and we had four members competing.
“First was Peter Mullane, who won against Ethan Lloyd of Dyfryn BC, and Jay McCullagh lost to Alfie Andrews of Fleur De Lys.
“Terry Mullane beat Frankie Gammer of Tenby Sharks BC, and Ethan Jones lost to Rydian Davies of Cwmavon Hornets.
“On day three, Finals day, Peter Mullane beat Rick Dolby of Didcot BC, and Terry Mullane beat Freddie Norman of McKenzies BC.
“Both Mullane brothers were given the box cup winners’ belts.
“I was really pleased with Terry’s performances beating an Irish champion on day one, a Welsh champion on day two and a double English champion on day three.”
