Wednesday – Early news

Early News: There were plenty of big injury concerns coming out of last round. Max Holmes suffered a nasty ankle injury and is now expected to miss 8-10 weeks, while Toby Greene is sidelined for 3-4 weeks with a quad injury after looking like one of the best forward premium options. Rory Laird has now been confirmed to miss three weeks, while Josh Daicos is a test after hurting his ankle last week. Tanner Bruhn is also a test and could emerge as a sneaky DEF option with Holmes unavailable. Jason Horne-Francis returns from suspension, but popular POD Joe Richards is out for 3-4 weeks with a finger injury. Karl Amon has been upgraded to 2-3 weeks away, while Will Day is expected to return this week. Richmond rookie Jasper Alger is expected to miss two weeks with an ankle injury, and there are alarm bells for Rowan Marshall owners with Tom De Koning listed as a test.

Notes: Partly cloudy conditions are forecast for Thursday night, with the high chance of showers expected mainly during the early morning. Brayden Cook has been excellent cover for some coaches over the past few weeks, but unfortunately he has been managed. Sam Swadling has been dropped for the Magpies. The good news for Josh Daicos owners is that he has been named. As this is the opening game of the round, make sure you keep an eye on any late-out news.
