PUNE: Claiming that the All India Tennis Association (AITA) has been a “victim” rather than a “culprit” vis-avis the AITA Trust, interim president Chintan Parikh said the federation would be able to address the issue only after elections in Sept.The financial affairs of the AITA Trust have come under renewed scrutiny after the Delhi high court-appointed Administrator, Justice (Retd) Gita Mittal, called for its records after taking charge in April.The details of the Trust, registered in 2000 by then AITA president, the late Raj Kumar Khanna, to build the present stadium in New Delhi, have remained shrouded in mystery despite some past and present AITA office-bearers being associated with it.“AITA today does not have any information that we would like to hide. AITA is the victim here, not the culprit,” Parikh told TOI.“Neither I (the AITA president), nor the secretary general, nor the treasurer is a trustee. My first job is to ensure that impartial elections are held after the constitution is amended.“Once that happens, we will ensure that AITA gets whatever it is entitled to as a matter of right. We are not going to leave it undone.”According to information available on the NITI Aayog website, Anil Jain, Anil Dhupar and Rohit Rajpal, who were president, secretary and treasurer of AITA under the previous regime, hold the corresponding positions in the AITA Trust. Dhupar and Rajpal are also vice-presidents in the interim committee.
