Wow. Suns captain Noah Anderson has delivered a goal-of-the-year contender with a brilliant effort in the second quarter here at Marvel Stadium.
Under pressure at half-forward, Anderson avoided a desperate lunge from Blues’ midfielder Jagga Smith, feigned a handball, weaved past a couple of defenders, took two bounces and drilled a running goal from about 25m off the side of his boot.
“That was very, very good Noah Anderson,” Hawks’ goalkicking great Jason Dunstall said on the Kayo Sports commentary.
Added Western Bulldogs great Brad Johnson: “That is a dead-set challenger for goal of the year.”
Anderson, of course, won the goal of the year last season with a final-quarter snap against Collingwood in round 18.
