Schumacher was sanctioned for impeding during the second leg of qualifying at the GT Festival Darwin.
Motorsport Australia stewards said Schumacher impeded Elliott Schutte in the Arise Racing GT Ferrari 296 at Turn 3.
The Melbourne Performance Centre Audi R8 LMS qualified on pole position but will instead start out of fourth.
The penalty has promoted Mark Rosser and Alex Peroni in the Team BRM Audi R8 to pole position while Sergio Pires and Brendon Leitch will line up second in their Tigani Motorsport Mercedes-AMG.
The other Team BRM Audi R8 of Steve Brooks and Ryan Wood will line up in third.
Race 1 of GT World Challenge Australia at Hidden Valley Raceway begins at 3:45pm ACST.
