Cody Simpson is still on the road to recovery after sharing yet another major update on his vocal cord surgery journey.
The singer, 29, has been on vocal rest since discovering a “serious haemorrhage” on one of his vocal cords in May, and he is counting down the days until he returns to his music.

“Updates. Healing on track. Learning painfully acquired yet beautiful patience and true solitude,” Simpson wrote on his Instagram stories.
“Two more weeks of vocal rest and then I can start building back incrementally with my vocal coach.
“Hopefully singing like Susan Boyle in about 6 – 8 weeks. Will let you see my face today. Till next time.”
It’s been a long few months of recovery for Simpson who first shared news of his vocal cord injury back in May – and has been on and off vocal rest since.
It came just weeks after he made a triumphant return to music with two new singles, Baby Blue and When It Comes to Loving You.
The swimming champion and returned singer said the injury occurred “due to [his] overzealousness in the studio singing through a sinus infection” he “didn’t know” he had.
“I assumed it was just fatigue and kept showing up to the studio until one day I could no longer sing properly,” he revealed at the time.

Simpson added that his injury has impacted his ability to complete his upcoming album and polish up his latest singles.
On May 19, Simpson revealed the haemorrhage was now gone, but he was not out of the woods, as there was a “big damaged blood vessel on the underside of my right vocal cord”.
Simpson was hit with another health blow in late June after dislocating his knee while rehearsing for a music video.

The injury left the singer in crutches, on top of being on and off vocal rest for close to three months.
“The universe is serving it to me this year!” he said at the time.
