Darderi, Fery, Brooksby Lead Winston-Salem Field – Tennis Now

Thirteen of the world’s Top 50-ranked men will play Winston-Salem ahead of the US Open.

Rising stars and former champions highlight the 2026 Winston-Salem field.

The 2026 Winston-Salem Open will be contested at the Wake Forest Tennis Complex from August 22-29th. The initial 2026 entry list features 13 current Top 50 ranked players and four former Winston-Salem Open champions.

Italian powerhouse and world No. 23 Luciano Darderi headlines the field, returning to the Winston-Salem Open for the third straight year.

The 2026 Rome semifinalist has achieved his career-high ranking this season.

SW19 resident Arthur Fery lit up the tennis world becoming the first British wild card to reach the Wimbledon men’s semifinals at his hometown event. Fery has entered Winston-Salem along with fellow former Wimbledon semifinalist and No. 10 Denis Shapovalov, as well as rising stars Raphael Collignon and Ignacio Buse, two of the ATP Tour’s emerging talents this season.

The Winston-Salem Open will welcome back multiple former champions who will compete to take home a second title at the tournament.

Past winners appearing in this year’s field include Lorenzo Sonego (2024), Sebastian Baez (2023), Adrian Mannarino (2022), and Pablo Carreno Busta (2016).

The initial list contains 37 direct entries and is subject to change, with more spots to be filled in the coming weeks with wild cards. The Winston-Salem Open features a 48-player singles draw and begins Saturday, August 22 with qualifying rounds. The tournament will conclude Saturday, August 29 with the singles and doubles finals.
