The Wahoo Kickr V6 easily dominates as one of the market’s best smart trainers. Wahoo’s flagship trainer is our top choice for Zwift racing and narrowly missed out on being the best overall indoor trainer, with its sibling, the cheaper Kickr Core 2, getting the nod there.
The Kickr Core 2 ticks all the boxes as the best budget-friendly smart trainer. Perfect for the more casual indoor rider, or anyone getting into indoor riding and Zwift for the first time.
However, the Kickr V6 is the smart trainer of choice for riders seeking maximum performance and lightning-fast race-day connectivity.
That performance usually comes with a substantial price tag, but right now at Amazon, the Wahoo Kickr V6 is discounted by $200, down to just $849.99. If you’re looking to invest or upgrade, we think the V6 warrants serious consideration at this price.
Wahoo is also running the exact deal on the Kickr V6, and elsewhere in its Summer Sale, the Kickr Core 2 is reduced to just $399.99 from $549.99.
Our choice as one of the best bike computers, the Wahoo Elemnt Roam 3 is discounted to $419.99, along with Tour de France winner Tadej Pogačar’s unit of choice, the Element Bolt 3, down to just $299.99.
The Wahoo Sale runs until Sunday, August 9, and the limited-time promotion sees discounts across the Wahoo ecosystem, from smart trainers and indoor bikes to bike computers and power meter pedals. Amazon prices reflect the discounts at Wahoo, so we’d expect those to return to full price come August 9.
The Kickr V6 still claimed a perfect 5-out-of-5-star review from Cycling News’ Associate Editor, Josh Croxton. At the time of testing, Josh was torn between the Elite Justo 2 and the Kickr V6 as his top choice, and both are excellent top-of-the-line smart trainers.
The Elite Justo has a slightly better max power (2,300 watts vs 2,200 watts) and higher max simulated grade (24% vs 20%). I’d still opt for the Wahoo, as I love Wahoo products, and especially at this discounted price. The Elite Justo 2 is currently discounted by 5% on Amazon, but still costs $1,049, for anyone interested in checking out an alternative brand.
The Wahoo Kickr V6 deal applies to US shoppers only, and there are no reductions on Amazon or the UK version of the Wahoo Summer Sale. There are reductions on the Kickr Core 2 and the Zwift Ride with Kickr Core 2, down to £899.99, from £1,099.99, which matches the best price from back in January this year.
