Coal and gas companies will not be allowed to buy carbon credits produced by a new koala sanctuary in NSW under rules announced by the Minns government.
The NSW government promised to create the Great Koala National Park on the state’s Mid North Coast before the 2023 election, but it has since angered green groups by saying the park would be funded by selling carbon offsets to big industrial companies.
