Hey Subscribers,
I head to Switzerland tomorrow for the start of the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift, and rather than stare at my suitcase and wonder why it’s not packing itself, I thought I’d write another cycling transfer round-up.
We’ll cover Isaac del Toro’s contract situation, Jordan Jegat’s transfer to Lidl-Trek, Mavi Garci’s plans, the latest on Paula Blasi, and news on a bunch of other riders from EF, Astana and more.

And just a note on August 1. In the coming days you’ll probably see a bunch of ‘transfer window opens’ style stories. The reality is that the Aug 1 rule on announcing transfers was scrapped by the UCI and deals can actually be confirmed at any point as long as there is consensus from the rider and the teams involved. That’s not to say we won’t have teams announcing riders at the start of next month, but that’s more out of habit than anything else.
I think we’ll see contract extensions published in the coming days, but many WorldTour teams – especially those with women’s squads – will hold off on the bulk of their transfer announcements until after Femmes.
Some teams that have no skin in the game when it comes to Femmes will probably buck that trend, but if I hear more about the situation, I’ll let you know. I just didn’t want to be disingenuous with a whole ‘Breaking news: Aug 1 transfer story’ that sets the scene for a flood of news on that date that never materialises.

That said, you know I’m going to be all over the cycling transfer news over the coming weeks, so with that in mind I have set up a 30% discount on all annual subscriptions. For less than £1 per week, you can receive all my news, transfer analysis and more. Hurry though, that deal only lasts a few days.
Ah, also before we get into today’s newsletter, Wielerflits deserve credit on the Shirin van Anrooij to CANYON SRAM story. I think they got their story out before me yesterday; I just didn’t see their version until breakfast. Sticking with CANYON SRAM, I’m hearing that Georgia Baker could be heading there from Liv AlUla Jayco.
And one confirmed bit of transfer news that will happen on August 1 is…
