Apple is preparing to launch the Apple Watch Series 12 and the Apple Watch Ultra 4, which will feature new processors and improved health and fitness tracking capabilities. However, the watches’ appearance will remain largely unchanged – there will be no major redesign this year.

According to information Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, Apple also has no plans to update the Apple Watch SE, as the third-generation model was only released last year.

The main innovation is expected to be improved performance thanks to new chips. Apple last significantly updated the processor in its smartwatches in 2023, when it introduced the S9 chip, so this year’s update is set to be one of the most significant in recent years in terms of performance.

Significant changes to the Apple Watch design are not expected for at least another 1–2 years. Furthermore, the company continues to work on technology for non-invasive blood glucose monitoring, although its introduction into commercial devices is still a long way off.

It is worth noting that Apple is also developing its own smart glasses. However, due to the need to resolve a number of privacy-related issues, their launch is not expected in the near future. According to sources, the company is testing new hardware and software mechanisms to protect privacy, which are not currently found in any of its products. If development goes according to plan, the new product could be unveiled at WWDC in 2027.
