According to BasketNews’ Lukas Katilius, the Lithuanian club is actively monitoring the situation of the 27-year-old guard and waiting to see how his market develops.

McClung has also attracted serious interest from several EuroLeague teams, but Rytas are prepared to enter the race should a favorable opportunity emerge.

Rytas waiting for opportunity to pursue McClung

The potential move remains dependent on how negotiations with other interested clubs progress.

Rytas are currently assessing whether they could make a competitive offer if McClung remains available later in the offseason.

The 1.88-meter (6 ft 2 in) guard would represent one of the most recognizable signings in club history because of his success in the NBA Slam Dunk Contest and dominant performances in the G League.

However, competition from financially stronger EuroLeague clubs could complicate Rytas’ pursuit.

Mac McClung increasingly likely to move to Europe

According to BasketNews’ Donatas Urbonas, McClung is increasingly likely to continue his career in Europe after spending several seasons pursuing a permanent NBA opportunity.

Multiple EuroLeague clubs have expressed interest in signing him.

McClung had also received European interest in previous years but consistently prioritized remaining in the United States and attempting to secure a guaranteed NBA roster spot.

According to BasketNews sources, his position has now changed following the most productive season of his professional career.

McClung is open to taking the next step overseas, with a move to Europe currently viewed as the most likely outcome for the 2026-27 season.

McClung made G League history

McClung enters the market after a historic 2025-26 campaign with the Windy City Bulls.

He averaged 29.5 points, 7.6 assists, and 5.4 rebounds per game while shooting 38% from three-point range.

McClung became the first player in G League history to win the league’s MVP award twice.

He also scored 59 points against the Birmingham Squadron and became the G League’s all-time leading scorer.

Three-time NBA Slam Dunk Contest winner

McClung gained worldwide recognition through his performances during NBA All-Star Weekend.

He won the NBA Slam Dunk Contest in three consecutive years from 2023 through 2025, becoming the first player to accomplish the feat.

Despite his success in the G League and the Slam Dunk Contest, McClung has received limited opportunities at the NBA level.

He has appeared in 17 NBA games while representing the Los Angeles Lakers, Chicago Bulls, Philadelphia 76ers, Orlando Magic, and Indiana Pacers, averaging 5.9 points per game.
