MATT Chahda Motorsport has been fined after a hearing regarding unapproved testing of its two Super2 cars.
The matter relates to a visit to Winton Motor Raceway on July 21 for stalwart Matt Chahda and recruit Lincoln Taylor, and appears to be more about protocols than anything untoward.
A fine of $10,000 has been issued, half of which is suspended until December 31 this year.
“The team decided to test at Winton Raceway to familiarise the Drivers with the Cars,” read a stewards report.
“The Team Representative, Amin Chahda admitted the breach but submitted that no performance enhancing testing was performed. Supercars accepted that it had no evidence to the contrary.

“Mr Chahda submitted that he had attempted to seek Supercars approval through the portal, but accepted that he realised that the application had not been successfully lodged.
“Notification was required to be given pursuant to Rule D1.2 at least 5 working days before the proposed testing and the Team accepted that the first attempt at notification was through the portal on 20 July 2026, the day before the testing.
“Other than familiarisation of the Drivers with the Cars, Supercars allege no sporting advantage as a result of the testing. Supercars do not allege any safety issues arising from the testing.
“Supercars points to the importance of the system which controls and monitors testing and the sporting and safety issues which can emerge if testing is not controlled and monitored according to the Rules. The breach is proved.
“Taking account of all the circumstances and penalties that have been imposed for similar breaches, the Penalty is appropriate.”
