A man trying to stop his car being stolen was run over and left with critical injuries in Melbourne, with the thief still on the run.
Police were called to Blackwood Parade in Heidelberg West at about 7.30pm overnight.

They were told a man was trying to stop his car being stolen by an unknown thief.
But the vehicle struck the man and the offender drove away.
A 68-year-old man was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Nobody has yet been arrested by an investigation is underway.
