DAVID Reynolds had to overcome a nasty bout of déjà vu in the Sunday feature race at the Perth Super440.
Reynolds mustered a solid run to ninth, despite dealing with some debilitating cramping along the way that harked back to the issue that infamously cost him a likely victory in the 2018 Bathurst 1000.
“We didn’t quite have the ultimate pace in the race, but I had some good battles and fought my way home to ninth,” began the Team 18 driver.
“With about six laps to go, I suffered a pretty bad cramp – almost like Bathurst in 2018 – and thought it might be game over.
“I was using my hand to push my leg down instead of my foot, but thankfully it came good a couple of laps later.
“I didn’t tell anyone until after the race because I was focused on the battle.
“Hopefully we can find some more speed in the Snowy River Racing Camaro before the next round and have some fun.”
Reynolds continues to hold 15th in the championship, leaving his finals hopes hinging on a massive enduro campaign with James Courtney.
