A Chinese restaurant popular amongst vegans and vegetarians in Perth will be closing its doors to customers later this month.
The restaurant on Rothbury Road in Embleton, has become well-known around Perth for serving up a unique mix of traditional Chinese takeaway dishes and extensive vegan and vegetarian mock-meat menu.
The Chinese food cult favourite, will close its doors for good on August 22, with the owner Jason revealing he is ready to retire.
Food lovers hailed the restaurant as serving the “Best Chinese food in Perth”, with reviews on their Facebook page praising the establishment for providing good alternative options for those those that don’t eat meat.
“Trio’s Takeaway has the best Chinese food. Most of the menu has vegan options and the vegan honey chicken is awesome,” one person raved.

Another wrote: “Such a great menu and they cater to vegetarian/vegans extensively. Affordable, friendly and delicious Such a hidden gem!”
Reacting to the news on social media, the restaurant’s regulars grieved the loss of a beloved culinary institute..
One person wrote: “I’m devastated” while another exclaimed “What a bummer!!”
“Can honestly say it’s absolutely one of our favourite take away places got amazing vegan Chinese. Sad to hear it’s closing. Will definitely have to make a few visits over the next couple of weeks,” one user shared.
“Truly heartbreaking. Could feed my whole family of four with leftovers for under $50,” another regular wrote.
