Channing Frye had a 14-year career in the NBA, during which time he became a champion while playing alongside LeBron James on the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Frye has been part of the Road Trippin’ podcast since its inception as well, having successfully become an analyst after his playing career ended. And now he’s got a take that will be interesting to NBA fans.
Allen Iverson and Chris Paul are two of the greatest point guards in the game’s history. However, the two had drastically different careers. And Frye thinks one is better, and it’s likely not the one a lot of fans assume.

What makes an NBA career legendary is a combination of factors like talent, production, accolades, and longevity, among others. Between AI and CP3, both their careers included all of the above.
Iverson was an icon, a former MVP, and one of the most mercurial scorers ever. Paul has been a great leader, enjoyed phenomenal longevity, and amassed way higher statistical numbers.

“I think Allen Iverson is the one of the top three most influential players ever to play basketball. But I think if we’re looking at careers, Chris Paul’s career is better than Allen Iverson’s.”

Answering a fan question, Frye said, “I think it’s Chris Paul (who had the better career). I think Allen Iverson is the one of the top three most influential players ever to play basketball.
“But I think if we’re looking at careers, Chris Paul’s career is better than Allen Iverson’s.”
While it’s true that Paul is ahead in some metrics, it’s safe to say that he also never quite reached the peaks that Iverson did. Frye’s claim is something that a lot of basketball fans will disagree with.
