College Football 27 has dropped, and I am having a blast with it. I’m rebuilding Kent State on Heisman difficulty, and I don’t want to brag or anything, but we started out 1-6.
But since this is an FSU site, I thought it would be fun to give the Seminoles a proper simulation to see if there’s any hope for us in the real world.
I’m playing on Heisman difficultyJust one season, sorry to all my rebuilders out there.Sliders won’t be messed with. Transfers, coach XP, difficulty, etc. It’ll all be default.15-minute quarters for maximum realism (the default is usually 5).
Without further ado, let’s get started.
Week 0: vs. New Mexico State
FSU did the thing! Ashton Daniels struggled, but I think it’s partially due to this being a rain game. Very easy win that was never in any real doubt.
A. Daniels: 15/26, 132 yards, 1 TD, 1 INTQ. Wisner: 18 car, 147 yardsD. Robinson: 10 rec, 105 yards, 1 TD
Duce was the ACC Offensive Player of the Week! That’ll give simulated Coach Norvell a little more XP.
It only gets harder from here.
SMU is on equal footing with FSU in all categories in this simulation, but they have to come to Doak. Surely nothing will go wrong.
SMU kept getting 14-point leads throughout the game, and despite a furious comeback attempt at the very end by FSU, the Seminoles ultimately fall short by one score. Such a shame.
A. Daniels: 16/31, 229 yards, 2 TD, 1 INTQ. Wisner: 16 car, 79 yardsM. Danzy: 4 rec, 85 yards, 1 TD
At least there’s a bye week to rest up, recuperate, and recruit.
I accidentally clicked “remove” from a wide receiver I really wanted this week, and for some reason he has a lock symbol despite FSU meeting his dealbreaker. Okay, I guess. Good thing there’s an easy week coming u—oh.
Week 3: at No. 12 Alabama
As I pause the sim at the beginning of the third, I can’t believe what I’m seeing. FSU holds a two-score lead over No. 12 Alabama. I’m sorry, what?
I checked the settings to make sure I wasn’t playing on Freshman difficulty or something, and sure enough, we were still on Heisman.
Two quarters later, I find out that FSU may actually just own Alabama. Those… frauds!
A. Daniels: 15/24, 210 yards, 2 TD, 1 INTQ. Wisner: 22 car, 151 yardsJ. Boggs: 4 rec, 64 yards, 1 TD
Week 4: vs. FCS Southeast (Central Arkansas)
Before I show you the game, I have to show you what I saw on the menu.
Duce, what are you doing, man?
Anyway, there isn’t a Central Arkansas in the game, so FSU insted will have to face off against the FCS Southeast team, and the Seminoles manhandle them easily.
A. Daniels: 20/30, 305 yards, 3 TDQ. Wisner: 19 car, 156 yards, 2 TDD. Riles: 8 rec, 142 yards, 2 TD
Ashton Daniels was the ACC Offensive Player of the Week; congratulations to him.
ACC play for real this time. Let’s get back on the right foot.
A. Daniels: 14/29, 135 yards, 1 TDQ. Wisner: 18 car, 64 yardsD. Robinson: 6 rec, 66 yards, 1 TD
Just an absolutely mid performance from a team that FSU should have crushed. Can’t get it done.
Week 6: at No. 15 Louisville
It’s another rain game, and FSU cannot get it done.
If this team flips those one-score losses, they are 6-0 and bowl eligible. They are not.
A. Daniels: 17/29, 265 yardsQ. Wisner: 19 car, 142 yards, 1 TDM. Danzy: 6 rec, 119 yards
On to Miami week, surely they aren’t ranked that high, right?
You already know what happens.
A. Daniels: 24/41, 322 yards, 2 TDsQ. Wisner: 14 car, 60 yardsM. Danzy: 7 rec, 84 yards, 1 TD
Not much to report; just had a recruit choose Minnesota over FSU for some reason.
Florida State won an ACC game!
A. Daniels: 13/27, 139 yards, 2 TDQ. Wisner: 16 car, 102 yards, 1 TDD. Robinson: 5 rec, 47 yards, 1 TD
Week 10: at Boston College
Close game against the Eagles. Concerning, but they were 5-3.
A. Daniels: 18/28, 196 yards, 2 TD, 1 INTQ. Wisner: 21 car, 114 yardsD. Robinson: 5 rec, 51 yards, 1 TD
Week 11: at No. 13 Pittsburgh
Going into this, I had no clue how Pitt was ranked. They were an 80 or so overall.
I now understand. I will hereby no longer disrespect the Panthers in sim. They won on a last-second field goal.
A. Daniels: 12/24, 142 yards, 1 TDQ. Wisner: 16 car, 97 yardsD. Riles: 2 rec, 43 yards, 1 TD
FSU had a 28-3 lead and almost blew it.
Ashton Daniels went off, as you’ll see below. Florida State is going bowling!
A. Daniels: 25/38, 306 yards, 2 TDQ. Wisner: 19 car, 46 yards, 1 TDD. Riles: 8 rec, 104 yards
Let’s end the regular season on a positive note and beat a rival!
OH COME ON MAN ONE SCORE AGAIN?!
It’s now creepy how close this season has come to being nearly perfect. If we flip all one-score losses, FSU is 11-1. They are 6-6 in actuality. At least they’re headed to a bowl game. I don’t know about you, but I’m hoping for the Pop-Tarts Bowl.
A. Daniels: 11/18, 171 yardsQ. Wisner: 23 car, 88 yardsM. Danzy: 4 car, 80 yards
Sam Singleton Jr. was selected for the Jet Award, given to the best return specialist in the country. Congratulations to him.
Wasabi Fenway Bowl vs. UTSA
We’re heading to Boston, ya’ll.
They had us in the first half, not gonna lie. FSU mounted a great push in the fourth, and UTSA, being in the high 60s overall, just ran out of gas. FSU gets its first bowl victory since 2022.
A. Daniels: 22/36, 364 yards, 2 TD, 2 INTQ. Wisner: 19 car, 131 yards, 1 TDD. Robinson: 2 rec, 19 yards, 1 TD
All offensive guys. Duce, Wisner, and Chaplin all go to the draft. We wish them successful careers in Madden.
Well, what do you think, reader? Was this an accurate simulation? Let us know in the comments.
