FORMER Supercars team manager Dave Ward has launched a new motorsport business in the United Kingdom.
Ward, who was formerly team manager of Ford Performance Racing and technical director of PWR Racing, has announced his departure from Progressive Motorsport Limited.
Ward helped establish Progressive Motorsport, a premier race engineering and classic vehicle restoration business, in 2009 with Howden Haynes.
The two worked together on the Team Bentley Le Mans project and won the 2004 Le Mans Endurance Series with Audi Sport UK Team Veloqx.
Prior to that Ward worked on the Audi Sport 1996 British Touring Car Championship-winning team and later was team manager for SEAT in the British Touring Car Championship after his tenure in Australia was complete.
He came to Australia in 2004 and joined FPR as Team Manager from the Sandown 500 onwards before moving to the Weel family’s PWR Racing team under the Supercheap Auto Racing banner.
Ward was the team’s technical director from early 2005 through to late 2006.
He has now formed Ridgeline Automotive, with a focus on ‘high-performance automotive projects and logistics together with highly detailed classic race car condition reports’.
“Building Progressive Motorsport into the respected operation it is today has been a privilege,” he said.
“However, the time is right to focus on the new challenge of bringing a fresh perspective and highly specialised services to the automotive, classic and motorsport communities.”
Ridgeline Automotive operates from headquarters in Silverstone, England.
