WE are in an uncertain market which leads to home buyers taking a cautious approach as they try to digest, and interpret, the volumes of information being thrown at them on a daily basis.

Trying to decide what is fact and what is just scaremongering misinformation is not an easy job, so Australia’s largest builder and a respected economist have joined forces to cut through the noise.

Metricon’s new monthly podcast, Home Truths, hosted by Samantha Riches and featuring property economist Cameron Kusher and Metricon Homes CEO Brad Duggan has just been launched to cut through the headlines and translate complex housing and economic developments.

It promises straight answers on interest rates, tax reforms, affordability and the housing market.

The launch episode, Post-Budget Reality: Rates, Tax Changes and the Housing Confidence Question, examines what current economic conditions and housing policy changes mean for Australians.

It explores what has become clearer since the federal budget, what remains uncertain, which market signals consumers should be watching and the practical steps they can take now to become better prepared.

From house prices, interest rates and affordability to building costs, housing supply, government policy and buyer confidence, Home Truths is designed for first-home buyers, upgraders, investors, renovators, mortgage holders and anyone considering their next move.

Duggan said that the podcast was created to help Australians look beyond the noise and feel more confident navigating one of life’s biggest decisions.

“Australians are surrounded by housing commentary, but much of it does not help them understand what is actually happening or what they should consider doing next,” Duggan said.

“We are not here to tell people what decision to make, we want to give them clear, credible information so they can ask better questions and make their own decisions with greater confidence.”

Kusher, who has more than 25 years’ experience analysing the Australian property market, said that consumers needed clarity.

“We will take the data, remove the jargon and explain what it means in the real world, whether you are buying your first home, planning your next move, considering building or managing a mortgage,” Kusher said.

“Listeners can expect honest conversations, clear explanations and practical takeaways, not hype or attention-grabbing predictions.”

New episodes of Home Truths will be released monthly, responding to the housing, economic and policy issues that matter most to Australian households.

Home Truths is available now on Spotify, Apple Podcasts and YouTube.
