AARON Seton has spared a thought for his friend and former co-driver Cameron Crick as he prepares to get stuck into a second solo Supercars wildcard next weekend.
Seton was always scheduled to compete in a third Matt Stone Racing Camaro at the Ipswich Super440, but ended up also subbing for an unwell Crick at last month’s Townsville 500.
Health issues have since forced Crick to withdraw from the enduros, with Harri Jones drafted in to instead co-drive with Jack Le Brocq.
Seton held a livery launch this morning at The Boat Works on the Gold Coast, with his #30 retaining its retro inspiration from his father Glenn’s Falcons of the mid-90s and some updated sponsors applied.
“It’s very special to have all my sponsors come out and actually see the car in person,” he said.
“Obviously the livery launch for Townsville happened quite last-minute and went out online, so a lot of the sponsors weren’t able to see it in person.
“All my partners are Queensland-based, so to put it on display for them and get a bit of excitement heading into next weekend is really good.”
The 28-year-old added: “Obviously my thoughts are with Cam Crick, who couldn’t do Townsville and is unable to do the enduros too.
“It’s hard for me to see as a friend and I hope that he gets better soon, I know that he is working hard to come back stronger than ever.
“Hopefully we see him at a racetrack soon, but in the meantime it was very special to be able to represent him in Townsville and then for my planned wildcard at QR I’ll be thinking of him every lap.”
