The Gold Coast have given former Queensland State of Origin utility AJ Brimson permission to talk to other clubs despite being under contract at the Titans until 2030.

It will be welcome news to a club like the Perth Bears who are desperate to sign rep-class players and the PNG Chiefs will no doubt be an option.
The 27-year-old has been at the Titans for nine years but hasn’t been able to nail down a particular spot in the starting line-up.
The Courier Mail has reported that Titans coach Josh Hannay agreed to let Brimson talk to other clubs after his management asked for permission to do so.
“As a club we have the utmost respect for AJ and we know he loves this club and always will,” Hannay said.
“The discussions have been incredibly respectful and will remain so. There is no animosity either way. This is simply a decision that both parties see as being in their own best interests.”
Brimson, who is on $900,000 a season at the Titans, played four Origin games for the Maroons from 2020-23.
It’s understood he wants to play fullback, but the Titans view Keano Kini as their long-term No. 1.
