Superstar Latrell Mitchell will target a return in Round 26 against the Titans after his long-awaited comeback was put on hold.
Mitchell has missed 11 games as he battles nerve pain in his lower back which has affected his leg and calf but had been named in the Rabbitohs’ extended squad on Tuesday.
“There was a chance (for this week). He trained pretty well but just probably needs another week,” coach Wayne Bennett said on Friday.
“We took a cautious approach and we’ll give him another week.”
Better news for Manly though with Tom Trbojevic a confirmed starter for their clash with the Knights on Saturday.

Dolphins: Origin star Max Plath joins the starting side with Connelly Lemuelu likely to be sidelined until Round 27 with a hamstring injury. Jake Averillo and Brian Pouniu are the new faces on the six-man interchange as the Dolphins look to continue a seven-game winning streak in matches at Suncorp Stadium. Coach Kristian Woolf said the club views Redcliffe junior Pouniu as a back-rower and he will get an opportunity in the forwards this week. “He is ready to be a first-grader and we are going to give him some opportunities to show that,” Woolf said.
Eels: Experienced outside back Sean Russell had a late cameo off the bench in the win over the Cowboys and could be in line for a call-up to the starting side.
