Volkanovski turns 38 in just a few weeks and has been through some absolute wars in his UFC career, which include epic showdowns against all-time greats like Max Holloway and Islam Makhachev, just to name a few.
The 28-4 Aussie is currently coming off back-to-back decisions wins over Diego Lopes and will return to the Octagon for a UFC 333 title defense opposite No. 1-ranked Movsar Evloev on Oct. 24 in Abu Dhabi.
“If things go terribly wrong, alright, we’re done,” Volkanovski said on YouTube. “If things go very well, like the last one, no damage, go through, alright, we’ll keep it rolling. Taking each fight as it goes, just trying to be real with it. But I don’t have plans on retiring right now — money’s always good.”
In addition, his undefeated UFC 333 opponent has never finished a fight inside the Octagon and is most dangerous as an offensive wrestler, which doesn’t scream “future CTE” in terms of damage incurred.
