On the final day of the Belgian stage race, the riders faced several local laps in and around Leuven. Team Visma | Lease a Bike had set its sights on a top-10 finish for Fiorelli and keeping the orange jersey with Mattio. Both goals were achieved. Fiorelli sprinted to fourth place on the streets of Leuven, earning tenth place in the final overall standings. Mattio also successfully defended the orange youth jersey.
“I think we can be very happy with the results we achieved here”, sports director Marc Reef begins. “We faced quite a few setbacks throughout the week, with several riders forced to abandon after crashes. Nevertheless, we kept our spirits high and continued to fight. With several top-10 finishes, tenth place overall, and the win in the youth classification, we can look back on a successful week.”
