Sidebottom adds to lead; Howe injured again
Jamie Elliott hit the post a few minutes ago but now Steele Sidebottom marked 35m from goal and then converted his set shot.
More importantly, Jeremy Howe looks to be being subbed off with another injury.
He was shown gesturing to the trainers that something wasn’t right with his leg, possibly his hamstring but it isn’t yet clear what the issue is.
Roan Steele is coming on and Howe is sitting on the back row of the bench.

De Goey hits the target
Jordan De Goey looks back to his best after taking a pass just inside the 50m line and booting a goal on the run.
The Magpies Army have been frustrated with shots missing the target but that one went over the hat of the goal umpire.
Pies 39, Dees 32 with seven mins to go in Q2.

Goal: Finally for the Pies
After a string of behinds, Collingwood hit the scoreboard with a goal. Crucially, they regain the lead. Jamie Elliott marked in close, but he went back and made sure of the goal by playing on and then kicking across his body. You can almost hear the collective sigh of relief from the black and white army.

Goal: Another one Melbourne
Jake Melksham with his first. Melbourne snatch the lead. The crowd is eerily quiet. Pies fans are quietly fuming.

Goal: Demons draw level
Bayley Fritsch, nice work. The small and hard-running forward pushes his opponent away as the ball is kicked into their forward line (watch the replay – was it a free kick). Fritsch marks well, and converts. Scores level in the second quarter.
Collingwood 3.7 (25) level with Melbourne 4.1 (25)

Goal: Mihocek on target
Less than four minutes down in the term, and Brody Mihocek slots one. Crucial. A behind would simply have been unacceptable. Instead, it’s a major and the Pies keep their noses in front.

Up and going in the second term
It’s hard not to think the opening phase of the second quarter will be important. If Collingwood maintain their superiority (and convert on the scoreboard) the tone of the match will be set.

QT: Magpies by one point
The distance proves too much for Schulz, who was forced to push his kick as he let loose from right on 50 metres out. Another behind. The score gave Collingwood the lead. But will their inaccuracy come back to bite them? Only time will tell.
Q/T: Collingwood 2.7 (19) Melbourne 3.0 (18)
