When you’re caravanning and camping across Australia, your bathroom options might be limited.
Some can be so rancid that you contemplate holding it until you get to the next pitstop.
But caravanner Lisa Barlow told Yahoo Lifestyle about her shock when she pulled into an “absolute ripper” of a $20-per-night site more than 500km from the closest capital city and saw the outhouse on offer.

While this place in the middle of Australia looks like nothing special, it has amenities that have been praised by travellers.

“It was absolutely spotless,” she said.
“Easy access. Hand-made and clean. The owners, Wayne and Norrie, take a lot of pride in their camping grounds.”
She said the owners had “old-school hospitality” and were “extremely friendly”, “helpful”, and “welcoming”.

The campsite is called The Valley and is located on a hobby farm just outside Broken Hill, a nearly six-hour drive north-east from Adelaide, where Lisa is based, and more than 1,100km west of Sydney.
It’s highly rated on WikiCamps, with a coveted 4.9 out of 5 after nearly 200 reviews.
It has plenty of space for travellers, a few campfire pits, a dump point, and some of the best toilets and showers you can find in remote Australia.

Lisa praised the toilet and shower areas for being spotless when she visited.

Lisa and her partner have been driving all across Australia for the last two years, and they have come across some doozies of bathrooms.
She told Yahoo Lifestyle that she’s had to learn to always check the toilet bowl in case there’s a snake in there ready to pounce.

At The Valley, the spotless shower and toilet area has been made with what looks like corrugated iron sheets and plywood.
They’re split into men’s and women’s sections, and judging from Lisa’s photos, they look brand new, which is tough in the outback.
There’s also a spacious kitchen area boasting a fridge, toaster, water jug, and microwave.

The spacious kitchen also received rave reviews.

Others who have stayed have also raved about the “top-notch” amenities.
“Clean facilities, great spacious showers and a good camp kitchen. Bush camping but with hot showers,” said one happy camper.
“What a spot,” added another. “Highly recommend. Toilets, showers, rain water if needed. $20 per night with a beautiful sunset to top it off.”
“Shower and toilets are immaculate,” wrote a third.
