Jimmie Johnson’s #48 Legacy Motor Club Toyota Camry.
Johnson wound up his full-time NASCAR Cup Series career with Hendrick Motorsports at the end of 2020 and relinquished the #48 that he was synonymous with for nearly two decades.
Since then, he has made sporadic starts with Legacy Motor Club, which he has an ownership stake in.
Next year’s Daytona 500 will be his final start in NASCAR – and to mark the occasion, several of the sponsors who supported him over his career have come back on board.
The livery takes inspiration from his championship-winning campaign in 2016, with a blue and silver scheme featuring the iconic fluorescent #48 on the doors and roof.
Iconic brand Lowes has come back on board, as have Ally and Carvana.
In collaboration with Hendrick Motorsports and Ally, it was agreed that the #48 would be loaned to Johnson for ‘The Last Ride’.
The car was unveiled as part of the Coke Zero Sugar 400 pre-race ceremony at Daytona.
“Seeing this car for the first time brings back a lifetime of memories,” said Johnson, who completed a ceremonial lap of Daytona in the Toyota Camry.
“Lowe’s was there for the foundation of my Cup career and so many of its greatest moments.
“Ally supported me through my final full-time seasons and helped make it possible for the #48 to return for this race.
“Carvana believed in what came next and has continued to support my journey as a driver and team owner.
“To have all three represented on this car is incredibly meaningful.

Johnson won all seven of his titles in the #48, which included a run of five straight championship wins.
It marks a return to NASCAR for Lowes, which sponsored Johnson through the bulk of his career.
“Jimmie will always hold a special place in Lowe’s history and in the hearts of the associates, customers and fans who cheered on the #48 for nearly two decades,” said Marvin Ellison, Lowe’s chairman and CEO.
“Our associates took tremendous pride in Team Lowe’s Racing and everything Jimmie accomplished — from 83 wins and seven championships to the meaningful work he did with Lowe’s in communities across the country.
“We’re grateful to have been part of his remarkable journey, and it’s an honour to be along for his final ride at Daytona.”
The 2027 Daytona 500 takes place on February 22 (AEDT).
