Shocking video footage has emerged showing the moment a fired-up parent was battered to the ground under a barrage of punches from a MMA-trained teen during a confrontation over bullying outside a Melbourne school.
Last week, this masthead revealed the parent had been brutally beaten by the teen after he allegedly “threatened to slash their throat” outside Wollert Secondary College.
The Herald Sun understands the father had arrived at the school to pick up his daughter and confronted a group of students whom he mistakenly believed were bullying her.
The argument quickly escalated before an older student — who trains in mixed martial arts —threw a volley of punches at the man in front of horrified onlookers, including the man’s own daughter.
There is no suggestion the student trained in MMA had any involvement in the bullying.
The Herald Sun has since obtained three separate clips showing the confrontation spiralling out of control.
In one video, the father appears to speak to a student before the older student intervenes.
The parent attempts to strike back, but the teenager blocks the blow.
Another student then restrains the father’s arms from behind while the teen goes on the attack.
The man is eventually knocked to the ground, falling onto a bystander, before a school official and other onlookers break up the fight and help the parent to his feet.
In another video, believed to be taken minutes after the first brawl, a group of students can be seen setting upon the father on the nature strip.
The footage shows the man on the ground, surrounded while being repeatedly struck by students.
He briefly manages to stand and push the students back, but is shoved back down and attacked again.
A moment later an adult intervenes and helps break up the fight with the students walking away.
A third video, recorded at the bus stop, captures the father in a heated argument with two students.
The confrontation escalates into a brief shoving match between the parent and one of the students before the altercation breaks off.
A parent at the school, who wished to remain anonymous, said it was “sad that this is what happens at our schools these days”.
“If our parents are behaving this way how do we expect the children to turn out any better?”
She also said the school “was not aware” of the parent’s child “being bullied”.
”From what I’ve heard she wasn’t getting bullied. A plastic bottle was thrown in the classroom and it hit her head — it wasn’t done on purpose,” she said.
