Family have paid tribute to the sister of an Australian actor who was found dead after she went missing on the Gold Coast this week.
Kym Mackinnon, 51, was found deceased at Mount Tamborine.
She is the sister of McLeod’s Daughter star Simmone Jade Mackinnon, 53.
Her daughter, Rayne Johnsen, posted a touching tribute to her mum on social media.
“Thank you for raising me, teaching me discipline & diligence, driving me to dancing Monday to Friday after school for 15 years, the endless weekend road trips to Byron to visit good old aunty Maggie,” she said.
“You taught me how to be an independent young lady and shaped me into the young woman I am today.
“You always believed in me and in every dream and ambition I had. You made me believe that I could do anything, and you were always there cheering me on as I picked up yet another hobby or chased another dream.
“To the showgirl, the dancer, the star.
“You sure knew how to put on a show, both on stage and off.”
Police confirmed they were preparing a report for Coroner following the non-suspicious death of a woman at Tamborine Mountain.
The Australian actor posted on social media that Kym was last seen on Guanaba Rd at Tamborine Mountain.
“Have you seen my sister?” the post read.
“Please share this post especially if you are in Queensland.”
She described her sister as very slim with dark brown hair and eyes.
Simmone Jade played Stevie Hall on the much-loved television series McLeod’s Daughters from 2003 and 2009, and also starred as Allie Reese on Baywatch Hawaii from 1999 to 2000.
She was nominated for several Logie Awards including the Gold Logie, most popular new talent and most popular actor.
