“Team before every individual”
“There are currently NBA superstars who couldn’t play in Europe. I really mean that. They simply couldn’t,” Beverley started.
“Because the adaptation is completely different. Everything goes through the team. The coach controls everything. It’s almost like a college team made up of adults. The team comes before every individual.”
“They have no idea, and I don’t mean no disrespect towards their physical abilities and what they can do on the court, I’m talking about mentality.”
Everything is based on defense
Beverley went more in-depth about the issue and elaborated the reasons:
“Sometimes you even share your hotel room with a teammate, travels are not organised completely comfortable like in the NBA, even though that aspect has definitely improved a lot,” he started.
“At the game coach can decide that we don’t shoot until there is less than 6 seconds on the clock, everything is based on defense, it’s completely different,” he concluded.
