The ex-partner of Melbourne star Kysaiah Pickett has made her first comments on the couple’s split, accusing him of cheating in a bombshell social media post.
Ardu Cubillo is believed to have packed a suitcase and left Melbourne with their daughter when she uncovered messages from another woman saying Pickett was in love with her.
She moved to Darwin to be with family and friends and labelled the ordeal “the most inhumane experience of my life”.
Cubillo posted the messages she shared with the other woman to TikTok, and included a picture of a cake which read “You can’t have ur cake and eat it too”.
She believes it was going on for the duration of her relationship after being told that he’d reached out to her on and off: “5 years of my life completely stolen from me,’’ she wrote.
When confronted it appears that Pickett responds by saying “she’s a liar”.
The other woman, who hails from a famous family, also expressed her anger at “being fed lies”.
“He’s constantly told me he’s in love with me and wants to get back together once he sorts out his relationship with you,’’ she wrote.
Cubillo also says she believes Pickett had people covering up for him when he told her he was going away on a boys trip.
Now feeling more settled and stable, a source said she wanted to speak in the current footy environment and in the wake of the Sydney Swans scandal.
Cubillo received many messages of support, including one follower who commented: “Fumbled big time, if he can do that to you he’s doing the same to her. Hold your head high queen.”
Another wrote: “He really fumbled. You are stunning.”
Cubillo accompanied Pickett to the Brownlow Medal last year and told the Herald Sun how proud she was.
“He’s had an amazing season, probably his best yet,’’ she said.
It emerged in March that Pickett was flying back and forth between Melbourne and Darwin to see his daughter after their relationship breakdown.
Some had questioned the allowance but the club and coach Steven King were supportive of the situation.
“I fully support any father at our club to make sure they get to support their family,” King said in March.
“We’ll give Kozzy all the time he needs to take care of his family and his daughter and he’ll be fine … we’ll work with him throughout the season as it progresses.
“You just need to be flexible and adaptive to what each individual requires, so it’s not one size fits all.
“We need to accept that everyone’s got different things going on, and how can we make both world’s coexist.”
King said in June that Pickett is definitely a top five player in the competition.
He had one of his best seasons again this year and was named All-Australian for a second time.
