The 11-year-old son of Formula One world champion Kimi Raikkonen has signed for Red Bull and been labelled “one of the most promising young talents of his generation”.
Robin Raikkonen, nicknamed “Ace”, will join the team’s development program in 2027.

The Finn has earned the move through impressive displays in various karting championships — and will now look to follow in the footsteps of F1 legends Sebastian Vettel and Max Verstappen, both of whom came through the Red Bull set-up.
Following the announcement, Kimi, 46, said: “We are all thrilled and excited that Robin has been chosen to further his racing path as a member of the Red Bull junior team.
“They offer a compelling and comprehensive program to develop and nurture Robin’s progress over the coming years and provide him with all the experience required to develop his natural talent.”
While Red Bull released a statement saying: “Welcome to the Red Bull family, Robin Raikkonen.
“One of the most promising young talents of his generation, the young Finn will become part of our driver development program from 2027.”
Kimi won his F1 world title in 2007, beating Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso by one point in one of the closest ever finishes.
He claimed 21 Grands Prix victories and 104 podiums across a 349-race F1 career, retiring in 2021 after 20 years in the sport.
There are only two father-son duos to have won the F1 Drivers’ Championship — Graham and Damon Hill, and Keke and Nico Rosberg.
On the signing of Robin, Red Bull team principal Laurent Mekies added: “His speed, racecraft and natural talent have established him as one of the most promising young drivers in his age group.
“At the same time, he impresses with his maturity, his calm approach and his clear focus on driving.
“Our goal is to develop him step by step, without placing any unnecessary pressure on his shoulders.
“The path through motorsport is a long one and we will give him the time, support and resources he needs to maximise his potential.”
