Mitchell’s play down the short left edge with Alex Johnston leads to a try for Jayden Sullivan, but it is a bit of a controversial one because Johnston loses the ball during the play.
Referee Ashley Klein originally rules that Newcastle forward Jermaine McEwen strips the ball from Johnston which means it’s play on and a try.
But the bunker disagrees. They rule that McEwan wrapped his arm to make a tackle, and it’s a loose carry from Johnston.
Newcastle hold onto the lead … for now.
