1883’s Sam Elliott has landed on another Taylor Sheridan show, man. He is joining Landman when the show comes back, and it’s happening sooner than you think. Here’s everything we know about Landman season 2.
Elliott is already well-versed in the Sheridan-verse. He played Shea Brennan on 1883, a Pinkerton agent leading the wagon train that plops the Duttons in the West. The deets about what Elliott will be doing the West Texas oil fields is still under wraps.
Stefania Spampinato, former OB-GYN at Grey Sloan Memorial, is also joining the cast for season 2 of Landman. She and Elliott join series regulars Billy Bob Thornton, Ali Larter, Jacob Lofland, and Demi Moore. Jon Hamm a.k.a. Jon Jamón will not be reprising his role. Too busy at the Bad Bunny residency, no doubt.
Judging by the season 2 trailer, the pressure is mounting for Tommy Norris (Billy Bob Thornton), figuratively and literally. When season 1 wrapped in January, Tommy was possibly maybe in charge of M-TEX Oil. But being in charge just means more problems, including the cartel run by Andy Garcia’s Galino.
Nothing is directly connecting Landman to the greater Yellowstone industrial complex. Andy Garcia has never put a call in to Tulsa King’s Dwight “The General” Manfredi. But there’s no law saying he can’t in the future. And M-TEX could always contract Gator to cater a board meeting.
The second season of Landman premieres on Paramount+ November 16, 10 months after the season 1 finale. That’s boomtown urgency for you.
