Australian unis sign AI deals, as staff and students protest

As several global AI leaders continue their calls to slow the development of artificial intelligence, Australian universities are turning to the tech giants for new partnerships.

The University of New South Wales, and the University of Sydney have both signed agreements with Open AI to roll out its education specific technology this month.

University of Sydney staff went on strike – in part – over AI concerns earlier this month, with students demonstrating against the new agreement yesterday.
