When it comes to vintage-inspired modern timepieces, especially the dressier ones, Furlan Marri has made a name for itself as a purveyor of great timepieces inspired by the best vintage references of the 20th century. It could be easy to lean into various watch tropes, but Furlan Marri balances a mix of influences while injecting its own personality, resulting in watches that feel familiar yet refreshing and unique.

The brand has come a long way since launching on Kickstarter in 2021, building a full collection of quartz, mechanical, and complicated timepieces. With a GPHG award under its belt, along with a Secular Calendar as part of the brand’s participation with Only Watch, the brand is only getting started. With so much to appreciate, here are a few of our favourite Furlan Marri models currently available.

Furlan Marri Mechanical Blue Sector Ref. 20202

Furlan Marri’s Cornes de Vache series followed its Mechaquartz chronograph series and was the brand’s first mechanical model. With its cow-horn lugs, sector dials, and applied Breguet numerals, this series draws on multiple desirable vintage references that have become part of Furlan Marri’s design DNA.

On the front, the Furlan Marri Mechanical Blue Sector has a multi-sectional blue dial with a sunburst outer section and a textured matte middle section. The outer section features a printed minute track and applied hour indices. The 12, 3, 6, and 9 o’clock indices are in the Breguet style, with the remaining hours demarcated with baton indices. At the centre are leaf-style hour and minute hands, a baton second hand, and a crosshair printed, rounding out design codes from the most iconic sector dials in watchmaking.

Furlan Marri Blue Sector Caseback

The Furlan Marri Mechanical Blue Sector features an elaboré grade-decorated G100 movement from La Joux-Perret, with a customised tungsten rotor. One of my favourite details of this timepiece, and other Furlan Marri timepieces, is that the inside of the case is decorated. For this model, the inside of the outer edge of the case back is decorated with perlage. A small detail the owner will likely never see, but it shows the lengths that Furlan Marri goes to get things right.

The Furlan Marri Mechanical Blue Sector Ref. 20202 is available in the Time+Tide shop. Price: US$1,850

Furlan Marri Mechaquartz Sabbia Rossa Ref. 20201

Furlan Marri’s first series of watches paved the way for what is now the brand’s Mechaquartz collection. Taking the best design cues from chronograph watches of the first half of the 20th century, this model helped define the brand and its path forward.

The Furlan Marri Mechaquartz Sabbia Rossa features a 38mm stainless steel case, PVD-coated with 4N rose gold. The centre of the dial has a pale gold hue that matches the case, with matching gold applied indices and hands. Inside is the Seiko mecha-quartz movement VK63. This battery-powered, quartz-regulated movement features a mechanical activation of the chronograph, along with a sweeping chronograph seconds hand, providing the best of accurate and reliable quartz timekeeping with the tactile sensation of a mechanical chronograph. The dial is covered with a sapphire crystal, and the watch comes with two leather straps. Despite the dressy looks, the watch is rated to 50 metres of water resistance, providing more than enough durability for daily wear. Whether you’re looking to dip your toes into complicated watches, dressy watches, or looking for something fun that won’t break the bank, the Furlan Marri Mechaquarts Sabbia Rossa is a great timepiece to consider.

Furlan Marri Disco Volante-Havana Disco

If your tastes happen to still lean towards the vintage-inspired, but drift towards the latter half of the 20th century, Furlan Marri still has you covered. Referencing vintage watches that called upon futurist design cues from the 1950’s and 60’s, the Furlan Marri Disco Volante brings a Sci-Fi novel unidentified flying object to your wrist.

The 38mm stainless steel case has a lug-less design, with the strap connecting directly to the underside of the case. Supplied with two leather straps and a mesh-style stainless steel bracelet, Furlan Marri provides plenty of options to style the watch according to personal preferences and willingness to test the watch’s 50 metres of water resistance.

Powered by a manually wound Peseux 7001, this ultra-thin calibre keeps the watch a svelte 8.95mm thick, including the front sapphire crystal. The decorated Peseux 7001 can also be viewed through the sapphire display case-back. Should the Havana Disco accompany you to late-night events, the dial is treated with Super-LumiNova, conquering low-light visibility.

The Furlan Marri Disco Volante- Havana Disco is available in the Time+Tide shop. Price: US$3,750

Furlan Marri x Time+Tide Outback Elegy Edition

Furlan Marri’s watches stand on their own, but the brand has a special place in the heart of Time+Tide, as the brand made the first boutique edition for the T+T10 celebration. Building on the winning formula of the Corne de Vache Mechanical series, the Time+Tide Outback Elegy Edition adds defining features that make it stand out.

The case and movement specifications match the other Corne de Vache models. The Outback Elegy Edition’s defining features are in the dial. With a unique dark brown dial and rose gold hands and indices, the colourway draws on the rich hues of the Australian Outback. In addition to the unique dial colour, the Breguet-style numerals are replaced with Roman numerals, making for a slightly more formal appearance. The Furlan Marri x Time+Tide Outback Elegy Edition comes with two straps; as with other Corne de Vache models, one strap has curved spring bars, and the other has straight spring bars. The lugs have two sets of spring bar holes, letting the owner choose how to wear the watch.

Furlan Marri Songlines Editions Time+Tide Edition

Continuing Time+Tide’s collaboration with Furlan Marri, FounderFest brings a new boutique edition: the Furlan Marri Songlines Time+Tide Edition. Picking up where the Outback Elegy left off, the Songlines Edition is inspired by the Australian music and storytelling traditions that gave Australia’s Songlines their name. Celebrating the connection of memory, landscape, and culture, the Furlan Marri Songlines continues the use of brown tones to recall the Australian landscape, with a chocolaty brown hue and a mix of brushed, grained, and lacquer finishes. The polished indices and leaf-style hands keep the dressy design cues that we have come to expect from Furlan Marri.

This new model features a new case and a new three-link bracelet, a first for the brand. The new case measures 39mm in diameter and features a more traditional lug design and a hunter-style case back, similar to that seen on the Red Hunter limited edition. In addition to the steel bracelet, the Songlines Edition comes with a brown leather strap. Behind the hunter case back is a sapphire display, showing off the La Joux-Perret G100 automatic movement. With a modern case diameter and 100 meters of water resistance, this is arguably the most sporty and rugged Furlan Marri to date.
