GARRY Rogers Motorsport’s Bathurst 1000 wildcard Supercar will hit the track tomorrow at Winton sporting a very special retro livery.

GRM director Barry Rogers this morning revealed to staff the temporary look for the #34 Chevrolet Camaro.

The yellow, black and red scheme pays homage to the car in which the team’s late founder Garry Rogers made his Australian Touring Car Championship debut.

That came at Calder Park in 1970, driving a Holden EH.

It ran the #40 at the time, which was the number used by GRM for its most recent Supercars cameo in 2020 (when its trademark #34 was occupied by Matt Stone Racing).

The Triple Eight-built Gen3 machine is complete with a windscreen banner featuring the words ‘WE LOVE GARRY’ and the number plate ‘HOON’.

The team, plus drivers Nathan Herne and James Moffat, will embark on a two-day test at Winton, September 22-23.

The car will then revert to a 2000 throwback Valvoline/Repco livery for the Bathurst 1000 across October 8-11.
