Piers Morgan has accepted Earl Spencer’s apology, but he still wants the “offending pages” removed from the memoir. For the unversed, Charles Spencer made several claims about Morgan in his new book, “Swan Song: Diana, My Sister.”

The broadcaster strongly refuted those claims and said his lawyers would contact Spencer over what he described as false statements. In the latest reported development, Spencer has apologized to Morgan.

Piers Morgan wants ‘offending pages’ removed from Earl Spencer’s Diana memoir

Piers Morgan believes a mere apology from Earl Spencer isn’t enough. During an interaction with the BBC, the broadcaster said he wants the “offending pages” in the new memoir about Princess Diana to be removed. “And if that means they pulp the first edition, so be it,” he said.”

The development comes after Morgan challenged several claims Spencer made in the book. Spencer reportedly mentioned in his memoir that the journalist, along with his other Sunday Mirror colleagues, took pictures of Diana while she was working out in a leotard. The photos were allegedly taken with a hidden camera, which Spencer described as a huge violation of her privacy.

He also wrote that Morgan was among four tabloid editors who were publicly named and shamed for being responsible for the paparazzi treatment of Diana. During a segment of “Piers Morgan Uncensored” on Monday, Morgan refuted the claims.

He clarified that he was not working with the publication when the photos were published. He also said that his lawyers would contact Spencer and the book’s publishers over what he described as “demonstrable lies.”

In a recent update, Morgan posted on X (formerly Twitter) that Diana’s younger brother had apologized to him for “defamatory lies” published in the book. However, while accepting the apology, Morgan stated that he would still pursue legal action against Spencer and the publisher.
