Isaac Heeney’s fiancee Steffanie Waters has posted on her Instagram page for the first time since the footballer was stood down by the Sydney Swans.
In a cryptic social media shake-up, Waters on Tuesday wiped photos of the Swans vice captain from her Instagram landing page, just one week after followers noticed she had removed images of the pair celebrating their engagement in October, 2025.

It comes after it was reported last month the pair are still in a relationship despite Waters being left feeling “distraught” following revelations four Swans players are the subject of an ongoing police investigation in connection with reports of sexual assault made by three women in relation to an alleged incident inside a Pullman Hotel room on August 17.
Waters on Tuesday re-shared images from a post originally published in June which showed her together with the 30-year-old AFL star.
Among the images posted on Tuesday, Waters is seen cuddling up with a shirtless Heeney. The image appeared to be taken inside a hotel room with the post tagging the official Crown Sydney Instagram page.
One of the photos that appeared to be taken inside the venue showed Heeney lying on a bed shirtless.
One video showed them laughing while reading out fortune cookie messages inside a restaurant.
Waters’ decision to re-share the photos came after she created headlines by hiding images of Heeney deep inside image carousels.
Among many images and videos of Heeney hiding inside carousels, a pinned post from 31 weeks ago shows a shirtless Heeney sleeping on a couch and looking worse for wear on New Year’s Day.
Her page shake-up got tongues wagging and her re-post has provided another cryptic status update in their relationship saga.
Waters earlier quietly deleted images that showed her and Heeney posing with an engagement ring on her left ring finger.
“Happy 30th birthday to this boy,” she captioned the image.
“Can’t wait to be your wife.”
Waters earlier this month unpinned the couple’s engagement announcement post from the top of her Instagram feed.
Now the photo is no longer visible on Waters’ Instagram account.
Before Tuesday, photos of her and Heeney together remained scattered across her Instagram landing page, ranging from September, 2023, to July.
Rumours about the pair’s relationship have continued to swirl since she was spotted in Noosa without an engagement ring on her ring finger last month.
However, The Herald Sun reported at the time a source close to the couple said the ring was taken to a jeweller because the stone fell out before her decision to flee to Noosa.
According to the report, Heeney and Waters had remained in contact and have not split up.
There is no suggestion Waters was in any way involved in the incident.
Twelve months ago, Heeney and Waters dazzled on the Brownlow Medal red carpet, but the three-time All Australian was not invited to attend the event on Monday.
Heeney and four teammates — Chad Warner, Nick Blakey, James Jordon and Riley Bice — were last month suspended for the remainder of the 2026 season for failing to meet club behavioural standards during a night out on August 17 where they were found to have stayed out late, consumed alcohol and brought women back to the club’s hotel rooms.
Four of those players are the subject of an ongoing police investigation, with Bice having been cleared of any criminal wrongdoing.
No one has been charged in relation to the incident.
Victoria Police sexual crimes investigators have interviewed four Sydney men from age 25 to 30 in relation to the incident. Those men have been identified in media reports as Heeney, Warner, Blakey and Jordon.
Victoria Police said earlier this month investigators have identified “all parties” present inside the hotel room when the alleged sexual assault incident occurred.
Victoria Police told news.com.au last week there have been no updates in relation to the ongoing investigation.
As the saga continues to play out, Heeney has been deserted by sponsors. The publisher of his kid’s book series has also paused its association with him.
Heeney will reportedly return to the club on Wednesday where he will face teammates for the first time since August.
