The images offer another encouraging sign for Lakers fans after a summer focused on conditioning and recovery.
As previously reported by SportKlub.si, Luka is already believed to weigh around 105 kilograms (231 pounds), nearly matching his listed playing weight of 104 kilograms (230 pounds) from last season.
The outlet also reported that the 27-year-old has not been this physically prepared in a long time.
His offseason program initially focused on fully recovering from last season’s injuries before shifting toward conditioning work.
Doncic had suffered a Grade 2 left hamstring strain late last season, which ended his year and forced him to miss the Lakers’ entire playoff run.
He is now approaching the end of the longest basketball break of his career, with 203 days set to pass between his final game of last season and his first competitive appearance of the 2026-27 campaign.
Doncic spent offseason working in Slovenia
Luka did not play for Slovenia this summer after deciding to prioritize time with his two daughters.
Even so, he remained active on the court, continuing his individual preparation and organizing a Lakers minicamp in Slovenia.
Much of his training has taken place with his personal staff in a smaller basketball hall located inside Ljubljana’s new swimming pool complex.
Longtime personal trainer Anze Macek has again played a central role in Doncic’s preparation.
Macek worked with him during his tenure with the Dallas Mavericks and continued the partnership after Luka moved to Los Angeles.
The Lakers are now only days away from beginning their official preseason preparations.
Los Angeles will hold its traditional media day on Sept. 28, before opening training camp for the 2026-27 season on Sept. 29.
