Welcome to Nakalimutan, or the titular Forgotten Island that anchors Universal’s latest animated film.
The Filippino story centers mythical lore, magical Aswang — or shapeshifting creatures who have supernatural abilities, and two best friends who bond over the stories of one Lola Fatima (voiced by Dolly de Leon). Before Raissa (voiced by Liza Soberano) heads off to Cal Tech for her college years, she and her best friend Jo have one last adventure to Nakali, summoned there by a mysterious jewel of the sea and porta. There, they meet weredog Raww, Demon Baby Bungi, Prince Mermahn, some fierce Duwende warriors, a real-life Mananangg and the Kapre.

Close listeners may also hear the voices of The Pitt stars Amielynn Abellera as Raissa’s mother and Kristin Villanueva as Tita 1 and Tita 3. Nico Santos voices the starfish that cover Prince Mermahn’s nipple pasties.

Jo (H.E.R.)

Musician H.E.R. voices Jo, half of the best friend duo at the center of Forgotten Island. Jo befriends Riassa after a presentation on the mythology presentation about the mystical island of Nakali, impressing only Raissa with her scary tale of the Mananangg.
H.E.R. has appeared in The Color Purple (2023), Yes Day (2021) and has contributed to soundtracks like those of Judas and the Black Messiah (2021), The Six Triple Eight (2024).
Raissa-Lizza-Soberano

Liza Soberano voices Raissa, the other half of the dynamic duo in The Forgotten Island. Raissa is super smart, and she actually proves that Jo’s presentation makes sense by making some calculations as to the Mananangg’s flight pattern.
Soberano portrayed Taffy in Lisa Frankenstein (2024) and Christine Lazaro in Alone/Together (2019).
Raww (Dave Franco)

Raww is an anthropomorphic weredog who shifts between human form, hybrid and full dog form. He serves as the island guide to Jo and Raissa.
Dave Franco is known for playing Perry in Warm Bodies (2013), Pete in Neighbors (2014), Jack Wilder in the Now You See Me films and Greg in The Disaster Artist (2017). More recently, he has appeared in Apple TV’s The Studio as himself, in the film adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s Regretting You (2025) as Jonah Sullivan and in Idiots (2026) as Mark. He also recently voiced the Insect King in Hoppers.
Lola Fatima (Dolly de Leon)

Jo’s Lola Fatima regales Jo and Raissa with tales of Nakali because she went there once.
Dolly de Leon is known for playing Abigail in Triangle of Sadness (2022), Molly Suzara in A Very Good Girl (2023), Grandma Tala in Jackpot! (2024) and, more recently, Lo and Li in Avatar: The Last Airbender and Detective Sofia Gonzalez in Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed. She also starred as Agnes in Season 2 of Nine Perfect Strangers.
Bungi (Manny Jacinto)

Bungi is a Demon Baby who braves cutting the umbilical chord to go in search of the magical sand dollar portal key with Jo, Raissa, Raww and more.
Manny Jacinto is known for starring in The Good Place as Jason Mendoza, as Logan in I Want You Back (2022), as Lt. Billy ‘Fritz’ Avalone in Top Gun: Maverick (2022) and as Yao in the first season of Nine Perfect Strangers (2021). He played Eric Reyes in Freakier Friday (2025), and he starred in The Acolyte as well.
Batiba (Jenny Slate)

Batiba is an Aswang who wants to help Jo and Raissa. She is obsessed with memories and the physical objects they get attached to. She is also agoraphobic, or afraid to go outside.
Jenny Slate is known for voicing Marcel in Marcel the Shell with Shoes On (2021) as well as Mayor Bellwether in Zootopia (2016) and Gidget in The Secret Lives of Pets (2016). More recently, she voiced Penny Pal in The Electric Slate (2025), and she portrayed Allysa in It Ends With Us (2024) based on the book by Colleen Hoover. Slate also appeared as Nikki Boyer in Dying for Sex.
Manang (Lea Salonga)

Manang is short for the Dreaded Mananangg – a flying vampire demon that can split in half and put her body back together. She is the main antagonist of the film at the start.
Lea Salonga is known for providing the singing voices of Princess Jasmine in Aladdin (1992) and Mulan in Mulan (1998). She played Gail in The Yellow Rose (2019), and she voiced Addy Lee in short flm The Vale – Origins. She also recently appeared as Elodie Honrada in Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin (2022-2024).
Prince Mermahn (Kevin McCann)

Kevin McCann voices Prince Mermahn, who claims he hung out with Jo and Raissa their first night on Nakali. Prince Mermahn wields a trident and is known for his good looks.
McCann has lent his voice to the roles of Ethical Bug in Puss in Boots: The Last Wish as well as that of Grump in Dog Man (2025).
Truffle Wuffle (Ronny Chieng)

King Truffle Wuffle is the ferociously adorable leader of the Duwende, or magical elf-like creatures who aid in the fight against Manang.
Chieng is known for playing Eddie Cheng in Crazy Rich Asians (2018), Jon Jon in Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021), David in M3gan (2022) and Chao in Joy Ride (2023). He also appears on The Daily Show and in Survival of the Thickest on Netflix plus Peacock’s The Miniature Wife.
Joy Koy Voices Datu

Datu is the leader of the Kapre, or tree giants who guard Nakalimutan’s forests. They are wise, musical and constantly in communion with nature. Daty’s name translates to chief, and he met Jo’s Lola back when she visited the island.
Comedian Jo Koy has appeared as the Daytime Bartender in Haunted Mansion (2023), voiced Coach Kimura in Leo (2023), hosted the 2024 Golden Globes and more. He lent his voice to The Tiger’s Apprentice in the role of Rooster, and he also voiced Benbo in The Monkey King and Bob in Awkwafina is Nora from Queens.
