Aoife O’Rourke has won gold for Ireland at the European Elite boxing championships after an unanimous decision victory over Turkey’s Busra Isildar.
The 29-year-old Roscommon middleweight was a 30-27, 30-27, 30-27, 30-26, 29-28 victor in the 75kg division in Sofia on Friday.
O’Rourke, who was defending the title, also overcame Isildar 5-0 to become world champion last year.
It’s a fifth European gold for O’Rourke and completes a family double in Bulgaria.
Her sister Lisa clinched gold a day earlier thanks to victory in the 80kg division final.
