Email Apple’s Head of UK App Store & Google Play’s General Manager
Reform UK’s ‘Small Boat Watch’ app is in flagrant violation of both Google Play and the Apple Store’s rules.
Will you send an email to the Apple’s Head of the UK App Store and the General Manager of Games on Google Play to demand that this app is removed immediately?
Apple and Google’s rules and regulations both explicitly prohibit apps from including content that targets marginalised groups.
Apple’s rules: ““Enemies” within the context of a game cannot solely target a specific race, culture, real government, corporation, or any other real entity.”
Google’s rules: Content is prohibited that “Incites hatred against, promotes discrimination against, or disparages an individual or group on the basis of their race or ethnic origin, religion, disability, age, nationality, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, skin tone or other characteristic that is associated with systemic discrimination or marginalisation.”
Apple and Google must now do the right thing and remove the app from their stores. People’s suffering should not be reduced to a trivial and cruel game.
