Convicted fraudster Elizabeth Holmes has sent a fiery warning to her enemies who put her “child’s health and safety at risk.”
The disgraced Theranos founder posted the ominous message from behind bars to an X account run on her behalf.
“I don’t get angry often. Tonight, I am,” the post read.
She claimed the target of the post “knowingly and consciously chose this path.”
“If protecting my child means burning bridges, I’ll burn them to light the way,” she continued.
“Time to sleep. I’ll grab the match tomorrow.”
When one social media user asked her if the post was a threat, she replied it was “a promise.”
It’s unclear what prompted Holmes to send the pointed message.
The text appears alongside an AI-generated image of a woman resembling Holmes holding a match, with a bridge ablaze behind her.
Holmes shares two children with her partner Billy Evans: a son, William, five, and a daughter, Invicta, three.
Invicta was born just three months before her mother reported to Texas prison to begin her 11-year sentence, which has since been reduced to 10 years.
The founder of blood testing start-up Theranos was found guilty in 2022 of scamming investors out of $US144 million.
The judge ordered her to repay $US452 million in restitution to her victims alongside former business partner and ex-lover, Sunny Balwani.
Holmes has always maintained her innocence.
According to People, the children can visit Holmes twice a week, which ends in a sad goodbye after every visit.
“The people I love the most have to walk away as I stand here, a prisoner, and my reality sinks in,” she told the publication.
Since September 2025, her X account has been run by Mr Evans, with the bio stating “mostly my words, posted by others.”
The account has recently been promoting the upcoming documentary ‘You Can See Everything’, which collected four million views on the day of its release.
The full trailer for the film dropped earlier in the week, giving a glimpse at how far into the story filmmakers Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim will take audiences.
Mr Fielder moved in with the family for 34 days to document the lead-up to the beginning of her prison sentence.
In the two-minute clip, she claims, “I don’t have anything to hide”, while Mr Evans expressed that he has never felt suspicion toward Holmes.
“I don’t have anything to deceive you on; of course I’m not deceiving you,” Holmes said in the trailer.
“I’m engaging with you as a human being. Why would I deceive you? There’s no reason for me to do that.”
Authorities have approved a transfer for Holmes from federal prison to a community correction centre next year.
The update was sent to her victims by the Department of Justice, according to ABC News.
She will spend her time at the transitional centre for a few years before being able to walk free in February 2030.
